I had trail cameras on my farm before I built a real system. Every time a branch blew in the breeze, I got a picture. After a few months of alerts, I stopped looking. That is what off-the-shelf products did for me. So I built something different, and now I help other owner-operators do the same.
A Hermes AI (artificial intelligence) agent is a local piece of software that runs tasks for you while you are driving, while you are asleep, while you are in a meeting. It knows who you are, what your businesses are, and what it is supposed to do for you. It keeps doing those things, day after day, until you tell it to stop.
If you run a business and you have a few loops that eat your week, we can take one of them and turn it into something that runs without you.
Who this is for
You run a small or medium-sized business (an SMB in the trade). You are the owner or the operator. You have a few tasks that eat more of your week than they should, and you have tried one or both of the usual answers: hire someone, or buy a SaaS (software as a service) product. Neither one worked the way the sales call said it would. You are open to a third option that involves an AI agent running on hardware you control, but you want to see what that means before you commit.
If that is you, the rest of this page is for you.
What we do
- Pick one loop. We start with one task that eats your time. One report, one follow-up, one inbox, one piece of work that has been on your list for a month. We do not try to automate everything. We try to automate one thing that you can see the result of.
- Build the agent. A Hermes AI (artificial intelligence) agent runs locally on a Mac Studio, a Linux box, or a VPS (virtual private server) you rent by the month. Your data stays on your hardware. The agent connects to the tools you already use through MCPs (Model Context Protocol adapters, small add-ons that give the agent access to specific software like QuickBooks or HubSpot).
- Hand it off. We train your team. We write the documentation. We leave you with skills the agent has accumulated (a skill is a note the agent wrote to itself about how to do the thing), so the work gets easier the longer you use it.
- Stay available. When the loop you picked needs to grow into the next loop, we come back and build that.
That is the engagement. There is no platform. There is no ongoing license. You own the agent and the skills.
The $99 consultation
You can pay $99 for a 30 to 60 minute video call with me (Rolf) or with my son Grant. You describe your business, what eats your week, what you have already tried. We tell you whether a Hermes agent fits, what the realistic scope would be, and what an engagement would cost in ballpark terms.
We send you a one-page written summary within 48 hours: what we discussed, what an engagement could look like, ballpark range, our honest recommendation. If a Hermes agent does not fit your situation, we tell you that on the call and refund the $99.
This is not a free conversation. It is not a demo. You pay because you are serious enough to put money down. We use the time to decide fit, not to sell.

What an engagement looks like
For most of the businesses we work with, the shape of the engagement is the same.
- Free 15 minute call. You tell us what you are trying to fix. We tell you whether the Hermes agent approach is a fit at all. If it is not, we point you at whoever is the better fit.
- The $99 consultation. One hour. You describe the loop. We tell you what is realistic. You decide whether to engage.
- Assessment. We spend a week looking at your environment, your tools, your data. We write a one-page SOW (statement of work): what we will build, what it will cost, what it will not do.
- Implementation. Two to to six weeks, depending on scope. You see the work in stages. You can stop at any point.
- Hand-off and documentation. Skills the agent has learned are written down. Your team can run the system without us. We stay on call for the next loop.
We do not have a monthly minimum. We do not have a SaaS subscription. You own what we build.
How to start
If you want the $99 consultation, the link is above. If you want the free 15 minute call to decide whether the consultation makes sense, email me at rolf@localhermesagent.com (placeholder address, replaced once we have the consulting domain email set up).
If you have a piece of work that you can describe in two paragraphs, that is enough for us to start.
Where we work
North Georgia and the I-75 corridor. Alpharetta (Rolf), Chatsworth (the farm), Chattanooga (Grant), and anywhere in between. We have done video calls with businesses outside the region, so geography is not the constraint. The corridor is just where we live.
